SEPTEMBER 2020

COVID-19:

First of all, we hope that you and your loved ones are all safe and healthy. We also hope that somehow, someone will devise a way for us to get back to some sort of normalcy in this world. We want to hug our friends and family. We want to gather and socialize. We want to be able to treat a sneeze or a cough as something benign, rather than an anxiety invoking event. We also do not want to have to worry about our own or our family’s/friend’s health risks every minute of everyday. That said, we can let you know that ours is an industry that is able to conduct business, virtually. Email, phone calls and online Zoom/Teams meetings, as well as electronic signatures means that meetings and transactions can proceed per normal. One major change that has taken place is the reduced need for medical personnel to visit your home to collect blood and urine samples for insurance applications. Generally speaking, if you are under 50 years of age, and apply for less than $1 million of coverage, then an in-person fluid extraction will not be required. Ultimately, each situation will be assessed individually but this amended practice enables us to continue to provide necessary services while respecting the emotional and health needs of our clients.
