Wellesley Insurance Agency was founded on October 1, 2020 by Desmond Wellesley and Andrea Canales Figueroa. The main goal of this company is to provide its clients with clear and concise information, to enable them to make insurance and investment decisions that will protect them from personal risks, as well as fulfill short term and long-term financial goals.

Desmond Wellesley – Principal:
Desmond is the son of Jamaican parents, who moved from their homeland to England in the early 1960’s. In the early 1970’s with 4 children in tow, his parents moved to Canada and settled in Kitchener, Ontario where Desmond grew up. Very early on, his parents bestowed upon him the importance of three (3) main life lessons: 1) always work hard and study hard; 2) tell the truth; 3) find time to play. These 3 lessons are what he applies in his everyday life, at home with his wife and 2 daughters, with extended family and friends, and with his clients and business associates.

A fully life licensed broker (LLQP) and Group Benefits Associate (GBA), his career journey began at Manulife Financial in the mailroom, roughly 25 years ago. Many roles have taken place between now and then, namely: call centre agent; benefits plan administrator; financial advisor; sales representative; benefits specialist; account manager; and now a licensed consultant. The positions and companies have varied, which leads to his unique perspective of being able to view a situation from all sides. Desmond has approached each challenge with the same focus, enthusiasm, and optimism. These characteristics will be evident when you meet him!
